Para conquistar o diploma de faculdade, o aluno precisa terminar o curso em que está matriculado. O documento é disponibilizado pela instituição de ensino superior alguns meses após a colação de grau ou a conclusão de curso, e pode ser um diploma de graduação ou de pós-graduação, depende da formação realizada pelo aluno.

Diploma de graduação

O diploma de graduação é conquistado depois da conclusão de um curso de ensino superior, que pode ser um bacharelado, uma licenciatura ou um tecnólogo. Para que possa ter validade para a vida profissional e acadêmica do aluno, o diploma de graduação precisa vir de um curso reconhecido pelo MEC (Ministério da Educação). Sem o registro no MEC, o diploma de graduação não vai ter validade.

Diploma de pós-graduação

Cursos de pós-graduação oferecem documentos diferentes, a depender de sua modalidade. Enquanto cursos de pós-graduação lato sensu (aqueles voltados para o mercado de trabalho, compostos por especializações e MBAs) oferecem certificados de conclusão, de acordo com a Resolução do Conselho Nacional de Educação – CNE, os cursos de pós-graduação strictu sensu (voltados para a vida acadêmica, de mestrado ou de doutorado) oferecem diploma aos alunos na conclusão do curso.

A emissão do diploma de pós-graduação vai ser realizada pela instituição de ensino em que o aluno estudou. Vale lembrar que nesse caso o curso também deve ser reconhecido pelo MEC.

Caso contrário, o diploma de pós-graduação não vai ter validade. Da mesma forma, cursos de pós-graduação latu sensu precisam ser reconhecidos para emitirem certificado.

Diploma do EAD x diploma do presencial

Houve um aumento de ofertas de cursos a distância (EAD), que possibilitam flexibilidade para serem realizados, economia de tempo e de transporte, e mensalidades que muitas vezes são mais atraentes do que cursos presenciais. A grande dúvida é se há diferença entre um diploma do EAD e um diploma do presencial: ambos vão ter a mesma validade no mercado de trabalho e no mundo acadêmico?

O diploma digital do MEC para curso superior é uma inovação recente que deve facilitar a vida dos alunos em formação. O MEC instituiu a possibilidade do uso do diploma digital para trazer avanços a transformação digital no ensino brasileiro. As portarias nº 330, de 2018, e nº 554, de 2019, são as que trazem as regras principais para a emissão do diploma digital reconhecido pelo MEC.

Todas as universidades brasileiras, sejam elas públicas ou particulares, são obrigadas a emitirem diplomas digitais. De acordo com o MEC, as faculdades são responsáveis pela geração, armazenamento e emissão dos diplomas digitais.

Os diplomas digitais foram criados para facilitar a disponibilidade dos documentos para os alunos, que agora não precisam esperar muito. Isso também garante que o acesso ao diploma seja maior, ao mesmo tempo em que evita fraudes, roubos e extravios do diploma até que chegue à mão do aluno. Dentre os benefícios, estão:

  • O documento fica pronto em aproximadamente 15 dias, o que garante que o aluno tenha o documento em mãos de forma mais rápida;
  • A partir da emissão de diploma digital, as universidades passam por uma redução de custos, já que não é preciso imprimir o documento ou passar por um processo de reconhecimento de firma.

A instituição de ensino deve garantir que a disponibilidade do diploma digital seja por tempo ilimitado, ou seja, o aluno deve ter a possibilidade de acessar seu diploma a hora que quiser, no site da faculdade.

O diploma digital de curso superior do MEC também deve estar disponível em todos os formatos possíveis: o aluno pode fazer o download do documento pelo seu celular, notebook, ou pelo computador. Além disso, também deve ter um sistema de segurança confiável, que possa torná-lo único e intransferível, ou seja, sem a possibilidade de cópias suas digitais.

Ao ser emitido, o diploma digital recebe um carimbo de tempo, com informações da data e do horário em que o documento foi gerado e em que recebeu assinatura digital. O certificado digital é o recurso que vai permitir que as assinaturas necessárias para a validade do diploma sejam realizadas de forma digital e que tenham o mesmo valor de uma assinatura feita do próprio punho das pessoas envolvidas.

Apenas o aluno e a instituição de ensino superior podem ter acesso a login e senh para acessar o diploma.

Qual a diferença entre diploma e certificado?

Diploma e certificados contam com algumas diferenças, mas ambos são documentos muito importantes para a inserção no mercado de trabalho.

O diploma tem validade nacional e é um documento que prova que o aluno que é seu titular e está habilitado a exercer sua profissão no país. Um diploma também permite que alunos da graduação possam realizar uma pós-graduação.

O diploma vai ser emitido por uma instituição de ensino superior reconhecida pelo MEC, em cursos de graduação (bacharelado, licenciatura e tecnólogos) e cursos de pós-graduação strictu sensu (mestrado e doutorado).

O certificado, por sua vez, é um documento que atesta que o aluno que o detém cumpriu um curso livre, participou de eventos, palestras, realizou atividades extracurriculares ou de extensão, entre outros. O certificado não precisa ser registrado no MEC.

Enquanto o estudante não recebe o diploma, o certificado é documento que a instituição de ensino superior também emite. É emitido de forma provisória e, nesse caso, o curso deve ser reconhecido pelo MEC.
