A história do Dia da Escola no Brasil

A Escola é um local de aprendizagem que se tornou a base da educação de todas as nações do mundo. No Brasil, as primeiras escolas eram dirigidas pelos jesuítas vindos de Portugal, ainda durante o chamado Período Colonial.

No entanto, naquela época, escravos e mulheres não tinham direito a educação, e os homens brancos acabavam indo estudar nos colégios religiosos. Os mestiços eram os únicos que procuravam as escolas dos jesuítas, que inicialmente não os queriam aceitar.

Em meados do século XVII, os colégios jesuítas começaram a ceder e aceitar mestiços, por causa dos subsídios de “escola pública” que recebiam.

Atualmente, a educação já é um direito de todos os brasileiros, e todas as pessoas – crianças, adolescentes, jovens, adultos e idosos – devem ter a possibilidade de ir para uma escola.

É importante comemorar o Dia da Escola para relembrar qual a sua missão na sociedade e seu papel na vida de cada um de nós, além de conscientizar os alunos e toda comunidade escolar do seu valor.

Nos dias atuais, a escola tornou-se um lugar para todos, e a educação é um direito garantido pela lei, voltada à formação integral do indivíduo, muito diferente de seu conceito inicial.

A escola é o principal ambiente onde a educação acontece e é um dos pilares da sociedade, melhorando o desenvolvimento humano em vários sentidos e construindo um mundo melhor.
