O Diploma Digital para o ensino superior já está disponível desde dezembro de 2019, de acordo com o MEC. Mas nesse primeiro momento é preciso que as instituições façam adesão ao formato, que passa a ser obrigatório somente a partir de 2022.
O objetivo é modernizar e agilizar o processo de emissão do documento, que poderá ficar pronto em apenas 15 dias, o que no formato impresso pode levar até seis meses. Além disso, a versão digital proporciona mais segurança na informação, diminuindo o número de fraudes e tem custo menor na produção, podendo ser acessado até mesmo pelo celular.
A emissão do Diploma Digital será válida tanto para aqueles que ainda vão se formar quanto para aqueles que já se formaram. A princípio, essa versão do diploma se aplica apenas para cursos de graduação, mas a expectativa é que nos próximos anos ela seja estendida para outros níveis de ensino.

Quem pode ter o Diploma Digital?
Todos aqueles que possuem um diploma de nível superior. Para quem ainda irá se formar, as instituições serão obrigadas a emitir o diploma digital a partir de 1º de janeiro de 2022.
Para os já formados, também será possível solicitar sua versão. A instituição de ensino superior deve garantir a validação e a consulta do documento digital bem como a disponibilidade de acesso ao ambiente virtual institucional.
E quando poderei ter?
Desde dezembro de 2019 as instituições já podem emitir o diploma nesse formato. Porém, cada instituição tem liberdade para elaborar seu cronograma de implementação, respeitando o prazo máximo. Ou seja, até 2022 é necessário verificar se a sua instituição já está emitindo o documento digital ou não.
Quem já tem diploma também poderá ter um diploma digital?
Sim, no entanto será necessário que a IES realize uma nova via nos moldes da legislação vigente.
O que vai mudar vida do estudante?
O Diploma Digital será emitido de forma mais rápida, em até 15 dias, além de ser mais prático e seguro, facilitando o compartilhamento do documento, quando necessário.
Com o Diploma Digital, o diploma físico deixará de existir?
Os diplomas que já forem emitidos e registrados no modo digital terão toda sua existência neste meio eletrônico. Os diplomas físicos já emitidos continuam a ter a sua validade.
Vai acabar a colação de grau?
Não, a colação de grau continua reconhecendo o título e nada muda com o Diploma Digital. Além disso, está garantido a IES o uso layout e template que adotam no diploma físico. Assim, elas poderão seguir o exemplo a da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), que ao realizar os testes do projeto, entregaram o template do diploma impresso no canudo durante a colação de grau.

Quais IES podem ter Diploma Digital?
O Diploma Digital é para as instituições que dispõem da prerrogativa para emissão e/ou registro de diploma pertencentes ao Sistema Federal de Ensino. Sendo assim, aplica-se a mesma legislação federal vigente que regula a emissão e/ou registro do diploma.
O Diploma Digital será só para a graduação?
Sim, nesta etapa, as IES somente poderão emitir e/ou registrar diplomas de cursos de graduação.
Qual a novidade da Portaria MEC que estabelece o Diploma Digital para a minha IES?
A Portaria MEC nº 554/2019, além de estabelecer as especificidades técnicas para emissão e registro, disponibiliza os parâmetros para execução e detalhamento de como deve ser utilizada as disposições de segurança, privacidade e sigilo de dados no Diploma Digital.
De que maneira as IES devem garantir sua validação e a consulta?
A IES deve garantir a validação e a consulta do diploma digital bem como a disponibilidade de acesso ao ambiente virtual institucional por intermédio de um endereço eletrônico destinado exclusivamente a instituições de ensino.
O Diploma Digital deverá compor o acervo digital da IES?
Sim, conforme previsto na Portaria MEC nº 554/2019, o Diploma Digital passa a compor o acervo acadêmico, estando submetido a legislação pertinente a esse tema.
Em caso de dúvidas, a qual Secretaria no MEC devo me procurar?
As instituições devem procurar a Secretária de Educação Superior – SESU, que é responsável por realizar o acompanhamento da implantação nacional do projeto. Especificamente a Coordenação-Geral de Relações Estudantis da Diretoria de Políticas e Programas de Educação Superior – DIPES.
